Duties of a Planning Commissioner

Prepare and recommend adoption, amendment or repeal of the City's General Plan; make recommendations to the proper City officials regarding maps or plats of land subdivision in accordance with State Subdivision Map Act and City Code; hold hearings on planning and zoning matters per State and City laws; advise and recommend regarding acquisition, use, or disposition of City-owned property.

Membership Qualifications and Residency Requirements

The City of Tracy Planning Commission shall consist of five members appointed by the City Council. The members shall be residents, not officials or employees of the City.

Term

Four-year terms, at the pleasure of the City Council. Per Tracy Municipal Code §10.04.020: If a vacancy occurs (not by an expiration of a term), it shall be filled by an appointment for the unexpired portion of such term.

Compensation

$50 per meeting, not to exceed $150 per month, actual and necessary expenses for out-of-town meetings and conferences.

Meeting Date and Location

Planning Commission Meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm, Council Chambers, 333 Civic Center Drive. During the months of November and December the Planning Commission meetings are held on the first and third Wednesday of the month due to the holidays.

Members of the public may participate in Planning Commission Meetings in-person and remotely. Public comment may be submitted via the following methods:

To provide a written comment for inclusion in the record, email PublicComment@CityOfTracy.org. Include the agenda item title in the subject line for comments to be provided to the Planning Commission before the meeting begins (comments will not be read aloud).

In Person
Meetings are open to the public in Council Chambers at Tracy City Hall, 333 Civic Center Plaza, Tracy, CA 95376.

Remote
To provide remote public comments during the Planning Commission Meeting, log into the meeting via Webex. Refer to the Planning Commission Meeting agenda for more detailed information about participating in the meeting online or by phone.
