The Parks Planning and Development Division manages the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services portfolio of capital improvement and developer park and landscape projects, including both new and renovated parks. This includes the implementation and oversight of long-term planning, design development, and construction administration that supports the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department’s mission to deliver high quality, safe, and accessible amenities to the public.
These project types include everything from neighborhood parks, sports fields, trails, green belts, and other community gathering spaces. The Parks Planning and Development Division coordinates the full lifecycle of a project, from concept through project completion, ensuring that each space is safe, functional, meets community needs and is thoughtfully integrated into the surrounding community.
The Parks Planning and Development Division is staffed with Landscape Architects that play a central role in managing, implementing, and reviewing design services and products in addition to quality control and assurance of these services and products. This quality control and assurance process ensures that deliverables and products uphold standards and regulatory compliance, including environmental and accessibility guidelines.
The Parks Planning and Development Division is committed to creating inclusive and sustainable parks and public spaces that enhance the wellbeing of all Tracy residents, now and into the future.
