Membership Qualifications and Residency Requirements

Five members, appointed by the City Council. Members shall represent broad balance of community arts interests and shall not be officials or employees of the City.

Term

Four years. Vacancies occurring during a term shall be filled for the unexpired period of term.

Compensation

$50 per meeting

Duties

Preserve and cultivate the expression and appreciation of the arts in Tracy. Represent the diversity of the creative community including arts patrons, architecture, engineering, historical preservation, design arts, arts administration, arts education, visual arts and the performing arts. Maintain the Civic Art Plan, advise City Council on the city-wide public art, advise staff on activities such as Music In the Park and Multi-Cultural programming. Perform other arts-related duties and functions as the City Council may direct.

Meeting Date and Location

Second Tuesday of each month, at Grand Theatre Center for the Arts, Visual Art I, at 7:00 p.m.

Vacancies

The City Clerks Office has opened a recruitment for the Tracy Arts Commission. We are recruiting for Three (3) – Term Expirations (three – 4-year terms will begin upon Council appointment and end on December 31, 2030). This recruitment will close on Friday 27, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
