Calling All Contract Instructors!

Do you have knowledge, a skill, or talent you would like to share? Do you have experience teaching arts & crafts, physical fitness, or other activities? If you answered yes to any of the questions and you would like to offer a class with the Tracy Parks & Recreation Department, please read the Contractor Handbook and Proposal Form(PDF, 678KB) and submit by the season's respective due date. We are always looking for instructors to teach classes for youth and adults in science, sports, fitness, and special interest.

Here are a few of our new upcoming activities we offer for the whole family!

Preschool-Age

The City of Tracy Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department offers engaging programs that bring fun and learning to kids and families alike:

  • Mommy/Daddy & Me: Spend quality time with your little one in this interactive program designed to strengthen bonds while exploring fun activities together. Perfect for toddlers and their parents or guardians.
  • Tiny Tots Martial Arts: Introduce your child to martial arts in a supportive and playful environment. Kids will develop discipline, focus, and basic martial arts skills tailored for tiny tots.
  • Tot/Pre-Soccer: Kickstart your child’s love for soccer! This program teaches young players the basics of the sport while fostering teamwork, coordination, and a love for being active.
  • Tiny Tigers Taekwondo: A fun, energetic beginners class designed for young children to build confidence, coordination, and focus. Learn the basics, including hand techniques, kicks, self-defense, sparring and poomsae. 
  • Tiny Tots Tennis: Introduce your child to the basics of tennis through fun, playful activities designed to build coordination, balance, and confidence. Learn basic strokes, volleys, serves, scoring, etiquette and doubles play.
  • Tracy-Tots Baby Gym: Delightful parent and child soft play gymnastics program. Learn essential motor skills and confidence in a safe and engaging environment while connecting with other parents. 

With options for all interests, these programs provide the perfect mix of fun, skill-building, and connection.

Youth

Discover a variety of engaging and skill-building activities designed to inspire and challenge youth of all ages and interests. The City of Tracy Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department offers exciting programs that foster growth, creativity, and fun in a supportive environment.

  

  • Beginner Mixed Martial Arts & Little Dragons Kid Safe Martial Arts: Unique mixed martial arts system to create well rounded students that progress with our belt system and will be tested after each session. Course assists student to address strangers and bullies.
  •  White Belt Beginner Taekwondo: Introduce children to the fundamentals of Taekwondo in a fun and supportive environment.
  •  Little Samurai's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Empower children with discipline, focus, and self-confidence through martial arts training with fundamentals of Taekwondo or Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
  •  Programs for Students with Disabilities: Inclusive programs designed to provide enriching experiences for all participants.
  •  Soccer 1 & 2: Learn basics of soccer and/or have a great introduction to competitive soccer. Skills and scrimmages teaches advanced skill building within a team format.
  • Future Stars Tennis & Advanced Beginner Lessons: Perfect for young athletes to refine their skills while learning the fundamentals of the game.
  • 12 & Under Tennis, Middle School Tennis Prep, & High School Team Tennis Prep.: Age appropriate professional instruction for basic strokes, movement, and how to score tennis
  •  KSB Skate Dojo Skateboarding Class: Learn balance, board control, and safe riding skills through guided practice and fun challenges.
  •  Rolls, Handstands & Bridges - Beginning Tumbling: A dynamic gymnastics-inspired program promoting tumbling skills (forward and backward rolls, handstands, and bridges).

Teens

  • KSB Skateboarding: Learn balance, board control, and safe riding skills through guided practice and fun challenges.

  • Tennis: Learn strokes, footwork, and game basics while building coordination, confidence, and sportsmanship.

Snowboard & Ski At Dodge Ridge

Shred the slopes with us and your friends on your day off of school! Trip fee includes bus transportation and additional packages of your choice.

Trip Details:

  • Departure: 6:00 AM from Tracy Community Center (950 East Street)
  • Return: Approximately 6:00 PM to the same location

Registration: Must be completed by a parent or guardian. All waivers must be signed before departure.

  •  Beyblade & Sports Bricks Challenge for Young Engineers: Fun filled program for students to learn about mechanics, engineering, science concepts, and math with fun hands-on immersive activities with exciting sports related builds.
  • Chess Camp: Participants learn piece movement, basic strategies, and simple tactics through hands-on practice and guided play. This camp builds critical thinking, patience, and problem-solving skills.
  •  Confident and Persuasive Debater: Dynamic and engaging debate course that begins by working on essential speech techniques such as vocal projection, enunciation, and audience engagement. 
  • Galileo Technic for Young Engineers: Theme: The Jungle Book: Build LEGO models and learn what it takes to make the mechanics functional to build the robots.
  • Roblox Game Design with Lua Coding: Transform gameplay into a hands-on coding experience. Students will master essential programming concepts such as loops, rendering, and inventory systems by integrating them directly into the Roblox environment.
  • Drone Flying Mission and Control & Drones and Space Builders Workshop: Dive into the world of technology and aerospace with hands-on drone flying and space-building activities.
  • Public Speaking – Current Events & Junior TV Anchors: Explore public speaking, debate, and TV anchoring. Analyze current events, practice structured debates, and develop confidence in presenting new stories.
