Project Overview
The Tracy Aquatic Center is a new public recreation and competitive aquatic facility intended to expand capacity for recreation, learn-to-swim programs, competitive swimming, water fitness, and hosted aquatic events. The Project is located on an approximately 15-acre standalone site in Tracy, California. The natatorium identified in the April 17, 2026 Basis of Design has been removed from the current concept.
Current Project components include an outdoor competition pool, recreation pool, locker/changing facilities, administrative and lifeguard support spaces, concessions and spectator amenities, outdoor pool decks, shade and landscape improvements, site circulation and parking, site lighting and security, future expansion zones, and supporting infrastructure.
The City Council identified potential enhancements are a Lazy River with Island; Three Waterslides; an Outdoor Family/Toddler Pool with Play Structure; and including a Community Room, Storage, Restrooms, and Kitchen. A parking expansion of approximately 9 spaces is identified separately as an add alternate.

When will I be able to use the Aquatic Center?
The goal is to complete construction in Summer 2029 (subject to change).
How is the Aquatic Center funded?
The current project budget is established at $65 million. Most of that budget, $55 million, is funded by Measure V sales tax revenue and a small amount of developer impact fees. An additional $10 million in funding has been committed by a local developer.
Who will own and operate the Aquatic Center?
The Aquatic Center will be owned and operated by the City of Tracy.

On June 16, 2026, the City Council directed staff and Consultant Group 4 Architecture, Research + Planning, Inc. (Group 4) to revise the recreation pool from an indoor configuration to an outdoor recreation pool and authorized the design team to proceed with construction documents for the entire project.
