Legislative Advocacy & Policy Priorities

The City of Tracy actively advocates at the local, state, and federal levels to advance City Council priorities and secure funding that benefits our community.

We engage directly in the legislative process, pursue grant opportunities, and participate in regional boards and organizations—such as the League of California Cities (Cal Cities)—to help shape policy on key issues including housing, transportation, and public safety. Through these efforts, Tracy works collaboratively with regional partners while protecting the interests of our residents and local businesses.

City officials and staff maintain strong relationships with state and federal representatives to monitor legislation, share Tracy’s perspective, and advocate for policies that support our community.

Our Legislative Platform

The City’s Legislative Platform guides how Tracy responds to legislative issues. It provides a framework for:

  • Coordinated advocacy and policy positions
  • Timely communication from the Mayor or City Manager
  • Collaboration with Cal Cities and other partners when appropriate
