We Want Your Feedback!

The Community Facilities Division is reaching out to share important updates to the 2027 Sports Field Reservation Handbook(PDF, 1MB) and to request your feedback on several proposed changes. Your input is essential as we work together to refine policies that support fair, transparent, and efficient field use for all organizations.

Key updates have been proposed to the Tournament Allocation and Scheduling section, including:

  • New recommendations for tournament allocation processes
  • A pilot program introducing a Tournament Live Draft
  • Updated criteria for tournament historical significance
  • A new Live Draft Code of Conduct 

These recommendations are being proposed in response to recent feedback from sports organizations. They are intended to explore new, more equitable methods for allocating tournament field space, improve transparency, and ensure that all organizations have a consistent and fair process to follow. 

Please mark your calendars for a virtual handbook discussion scheduled on August 10 at 5:00pm. City staff will be available to review the proposed updates and answer questions.  Virtual meeting links will be emailed one week prior. To help keep the meeting efficient and on schedule, please submit any questions in advance to sportsfields@cityoftracy.org. The deadline to submit comments will be August 7 by 5:00pm.  All feedback received will be compiled and presented at a Special Parks and Community Services Commission meeting in August. The exact meeting date will be announced soon and shared with all sports organizations on our mailing list.

Legacy Fields is going greener!

May 1, 2026

Here’s what to know:

  • Recycled water will be used for landscaping only

  • Irrigation runs overnight (10PM–4AM)

  • Drinking fountains, restrooms, and concessions will always use safe, domestic (potable) water

As we transition to the new system, you may notice some changes during the transition period. City staff is actively monitoring operations and making adjustments to ensure the system performs reliably and maintains the high-quality conditions that residents come to expect.
