What Can You Do During Open Enrollment?
You only need to act if you want to:
- Enroll in medical, dental, or vision coverage if you are not currently enrolled.
- Change your current medical or dental plan (for example, from Sutter Health HMO to Kaiser HMO plan).
- Enroll or drop coverage for your eligible family members. The following supporting documentation is required to enroll eligible family members: birth certificate(s), marriage certificate, or certificate of domestic partner registry.
- Create a Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HFSA)
- Enroll in the Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP)
Make sure you have your documents ready BEFORE Open Enrollment:
-
Certified Birth Certificate listing the employee, employee’s spouse, or employee’s domestic partner as the parent
- Final court documentation that states the employee has legal custody of the child and includes the name of the child and child’s date of birth (for adopted children or legal guardianship)
- Certified Marriage Certificate
- Domestic Partner Certificate of Registration
- Current proof of medical insurance (for benefits waiver) – only available to eligible employees.
It's also a good time to activate other benefits that are available to you at ANY TIME, like registering to access our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through SimpleEAP, establishing a Deferred Compensation Plan account with MissionSquare or Corebridge Financial (with both before-tax and after-tax contribution options), and so much more.
NOTE: To continue participation in the Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HFSA) or the Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP), you will need to reenroll.
Keep your momentum going — make your Open Enrollment elections before the race winds down.
