Encroachment Permit Information
An encroachment permit is required when work is performed within the public right-of-way or on City-owned property. This includes activities such as utility work, driveway construction, sidewalk or curb repairs, street improvements, temporary lane closures, and placement of equipment or materials within public areas.
The permit process helps ensure that work is completed safely, minimizes impacts to the public, and protects City infrastructure. Applicants will be required to submit plans, traffic control information, insurance documentation, and applicable fees prior to permit issuance. To apply for an encroachment permit, fill out the Encroachment Permit Application(PDF, 784KB) and submit via email with all necessary documentation (as detailed in the application) to encroachment@cityoftracy.org. Encorachment Permit Fees are detailed in the City's Master Fee Schedule.
