Treating Increased Mosquito Activity at Legacy Fields
Published on August 27, 2026
August 27, 2026 Update:
The City is aware of the recent mosquito activity and is taking a proactive approach to managing conditions at our sports fields. At this time, the City has coordinated with our pest control contractor to schedule a spray treatment for tomorrow, August 28. The City will continue to monitor field conditions closely and coordinate additional treatments frequently.
Additionally, effective immediately, we have implemented additional preventive measures to reduce mosquito presence and ensure safe playing environments. These measures include:
- Further reduced irrigation schedules. Note, during this time, the fields will experience significant stress resulting in discoloration.
- Options for more frequent pest control treatments
- Frequent field inspections at all sports fields
Safety remains our highest priority. In the meantime, your organization may cancel any field reservations without penalty or request an alternative field location, if available. To view field availability or submit a field request, please contact the Sports Fields inbox at sportsfields@cityoftracy.org.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to maintain safe playing conditions for all participants.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
