At the June 16, 2026 City Council meeting, the Tracy City Council provided direction on the next steps for the Tracy Aquatic Center project, marking a significant milestone in the city’s commitment to enhancing recreational opportunities and community wellness.

The Council reached a majority consensus to move the project into the next critical phase, which moves this project closer towards construction!  Staff were also authorized to begin preparing construction documents with Group 4 Architecture, Research + Planning, Inc. A formal resolution reflecting this direction will be brought back to the Council at a future meeting. Finally, Council gave direction to move the project forward with the outdoor recreation pool instead of the indoor natatorium.

Next steps include:

  • Staff preparing construction documents based on Council direction.
  • Staff preparing potential funding strategies for adding enhancements like the water slides, lazy river, toddler splash/play pool, and community building.
  • A future Council meeting where a formal resolution will be presented for approval.
