International Parkway to Close for One Year Beginning November 10 for Bridge Construction

Post Date:10/23/2025 2:41 PM

Tracy, Calif. — A section of International Parkway in the International Park of Commerce will close for approximately one year beginning November 10, 2025, for construction of a new bridge over the Delta Mendota Canal.

The closure will extend from Berkeley Road to Promontory Parkway and is expected to remain in place through August 2026. A detour will direct traffic along Schulte Road, Hansen Road, and Promontory Parkway.

The Tracy City Council recently approved an updated project timeline and environmental documentation supporting a full closure approach, which allows the contractor to complete the bridge about six months sooner than initially planned. The full closure will also improve safety for workers and drivers during construction and help ensure the project meets federal grant deadlines.

The $17.8 million project is funded through a combination of an $8.5 million federal grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act of 2020, and $9.49 million in matching funds from Prologis, the developer of the International Park of Commerce.

Electronic message boards and direct notifications will alert drivers and nearby businesses in advance of the closure. Access to Interstate 580 to the south from the Mountain House PKWY/I-205 corridor will remain accessible only through the approved and posted detour.

Once complete, the new bridge will enhance roadway safety and access within the International Park of Commerce and support continued economic development in the area.
