TRACY PD CASE 20-02962
Tracy, Calif. – On May 29th, at approximately 01:59 am, Tracy Police were called to the 1800 block of Camellia Drive regarding a domestic disturbance and vandalism. The caller stated the suspect was her ex-boyfriend and he was standing in the middle of the roadway armed with a knife. As officers arrived on scene, the suspect fled on foot while still armed with a knife and a foot pursuit was initiated by the responding officer. During the course of the foot pursuit, a second responding officer discharged his firearm at the suspect injuring him. Officers immediately rendered aid to the suspect who was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he is listed in critical but stable condition. A knife was recovered and no officers were injured during the encounter.
Due to this being an officer involved shooting, a multi-agency critical incident investigation has been initiated. The investigation is on-going and more details will be released when they become available.
