https://library.municode.com/ca/tracy/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=TIT11PUUT_CH11.28WAMA

Following are some basic requirements:

• No irrigating (use of potable water such as by sprinklers or hoses) landscape during the hours of 9 am and 7 pm. There is no restriction as to the days you may irrigate.

• Do not allow flagrant water waste or incidental water runoff from your property when irrigating with potable water.

• No irrigating within 48 hours of significant rainfall.

• All identified leaks from irrigation system must be repaired within 72 hours of notification or discovery.

• All hoses must have a nozzle attached with an on/off switch.

• Potable water cannot be used to wash off hardscapes such as driveways, patios, sidewalks, houses, benches, etc unless it’s a health or safety reason. This includes high pressure washers. The only exception is for when a hardscape surface is being prepared for painting, masonry, etc.

WATER EFFICIENT LANDSCAPE ORDINANCE

About half of the urban water is used for landscape irrigation in California. Large water savings can be gained by efficient landscape design, installation, and maintenance. New development and retrofitted landscape water efficiency standards are governed by the Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (MWELO). All agencies must adopt, implement, and enforce the MWELO or a more stringent ordinance.

The City of Tracy has adopted the Ordinance which may be found here:  Model Water Efficient Landscape OrdinanceRequired documents and templates for compliance with the MWELO and submittal may be found on the right side.
